The Australian Taxation Studies Program (Atax), University of New South Wales, is hosting a conference today on The Debt/Equity Rules: Drawing the Line in the Sand:

The divide between equity and debt remains as blurred and mysterious as ever. This evening seminar will try to unravel these mysteries. The seminar will draw a more precise line in the sand focusing on the meaning of key issues (eg non-contingent obligation) and highlight problems with instruments currently being issued in the marketplace. International comparisons will also be made.
