Clarissa Potter (Georgetown), Director of Projects at the American Tax Policy Institute, has announced that the ATPI will consider grant requests by Tax Profs to support tax research:
Historically ATPI has provided grants for research that will culminate in a published research paper. ATPI is continuing this program on a reduced basis, and asks for grant requests to be submitted by November 15 for consideration by the Board of Trustees in January, 2005.
In addition to making grants to individual researchers, ATPI is adding a new grant program to enhance the visibility and impact of important tax policy research. ATPI intends to fund significant conferences, colloquia, or other large projects involving the collaboration of multiple scholars on topics identified by the Trustees of ATPI. ATPI will provide larger grants than previously in order to encourage scholarly interaction on a more substantial scale.
The Trustees of ATPI have identified the following issues as critical for additional scholarly study and is currently seeking proposals from researchers, scholars, practitioners, or others who wish to mount major
programs on either of the following topics:• Tax Subsidies for Savings
• The Intersection of Tax Policy and Financial Accounting
