As noted here, the IRS last week announced the award of $7.5 million in matching grants to Low Income Taxpayer Clinics (LITCs) (including 28 at law schools) for the 2005 grant cycle (1/1/05 – 12/31/05). Yesterday, the IRS announced (IR-2005-28) that it had received additional funding to open a supplemental period for accepting LITC applications for the remainder of the 2005 grant cycle for communities that are underrepresented by existing tax clinics:
- Alabama — Montgomery & south of Birmingham
- Alaska — Statewide excluding Anchorage area
- Arizona — Statewide
- Colorado — Statewide
- District of Columbia — Districtwide
- Idaho — Southern sections
- Iowa — Statewide excluding Des Moines area
- Maryland — Statewide
- Mississippi — Western & southern sections
- Missouri — Eastern & central sections including St. Louis
- Montana — Eastern sections
- Nebraska — Statewide excluding Omaha area
- New Mexico — Statewide
- North Dakota — Northern sections
- Puerto Rico — San Juan & eastern sections
- Texas — Western sections & Dallas
- Utah — Statewide
- Wisconsin — Statewide
- Wyoming — Statewide
