The Joint Committee on Taxation announced today (Press Release 02-05) that George K. Yin will be leaving his post as Chief of Staff effective November 18 to return to the faculty of the University of Virginia School of Law.  George has been on leave from Virginia since becomming Chief of Staff in February 2003 [blogged here].  George has been nominated to become the inaugural Edwin S. Cohen Distinguished Professor of Law and Taxation at Virginia. The chair honors Professor Emeritus Cohen, a long-time member of the Virginia faculty and for many years one of the nation’s leading authorities on tax law and policy.
