The IRS has announced that the 2005 IRS Data Book (Publication 55B) is now available. The data book contains tables detailing, among other subjects, the amount of revenue collected, the number of audits (examinations) conducted, and the number of refunds issued in the 2005 Fiscal Year.
The data book documents the IRS’s increase in enforcement: the IRS completed more than 1.215 million audits of individuals, up 21% from last year. The data book also provides state-by-state statistics.
