The University of Connecticut School of Law has made available on its web site the September 6 lecture by Pasquale Pistone (University of Salerno and EURYI-ESF Professor at Vienna University), and subsequent panel discussion with Ruth Mason (Connecticut) and Georg Kofler (NYU), on US-EU Relations in the Field of Direct Taxes:
Prof. Pistone discusses the relationship between the United States and the European Union in the direct tax area, including how the capital movement may apply to protect investments to or from the United States and various aspects of U.S.-Member State double tax treaties, including non-discrimination, most-favored nation status, and the competence of the Community to negotiate tax agreements with the United States.
