KPMG has published its 2006 Tax Department Survey. Among the key findings:
- Greater emphasis on tax return compliance and providing timely, accurate financial reporting.
- A "disconnect" between the key activities that tax executives believe are most desired by their leadership, and are of the most value to their organizations, versus the way they currently need to allocate their departments’ time.
- Lack of consensus regarding a common definition of "tax risk," and an apparent gap between a concern for addressing risk and processes with which to achieve it.
