Squire, Sanders Sues Sherwin Simmons’ Estate for Repayment of $73k Loan

Squire, Sanders & Dempsey is seeking to recover $73,000 from the estate of the late Steel Hector & Davis partner Sherwin P. Simmons, a prominent tax lawyer who died of leukemia last May at age 75. In a lawsuit in Miami-Dade Circuit Court, Squire Sanders said the amount represents the unpaid balance on a $230,000 loan made to Simmons in 2001 to help him stave off personal bankruptcy.  For more details, see the Daily Business Review:  Squire Sanders Sues Lawyer’s Estate for Loan Repayment, by Daniel Ostrovsky.  (Hat Tip:  Danny Sokol.)
