Office of Chief Counsel Seeks to Hire Senior Technical Reviewer

The IRS’s Office of Chief Counsel seeks to hire a Senior Technical Reviewer:

Major Duties:

  • Serves as a legal expert with respect to the international tax areas and functions assigned to the Branch, which includes matters relating to sections 1441 and 1442 withholding, passive foreign investment companies, and controlled foreign corporations.
  • Responsible for the review of cases of attorneys within the Branch, and, as assigned, may perform other administrative/management tasks within the Branch.
  • The Senior Technical Reviewer will be involved in detailed and extensive research on complicated legal problems and the developing of recommendations as to the position to be taken by the Branch and the Office.
  • The Senior Technical Reviewer considers questions which have broad legal ramifications, and he/she renders appropriate decisions for use of the Branch Chief or other officials of the Chief Counsel’s Office.
  • As designated, the Senior Technical Reviewer serves as Branch Chief in the absence of that official, and performs other professional tasks as assigned.

Salary: $110,363 – $143,471.
