The ABA Section of Family Law offers a teleconference and webcast today on Specialized Divorce Tax Issues from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. EST:

This session will increase your divorce tax knowledge by covering current divorce related tax topics and specialized divorce related tax issues. Topics will include:

• Review of current cases and legislation impacting divorce planning and taxation
• Married taxpayers’ attributes reported on a joint return that need to be split between the parties; learn about the different tax attributes, where to find them on the tax return, and how to allocate them
• Dependency exemption allocation and impact on other dependency tax benefits to include education, child care expenses, child tax credit, and medical expenses
• Benefits of married taxpayers filing jointly and drawbacks of filing separately
