2009-10 Faculty Salary Increase Lowest in 50 Years

The AAUP today released its annual survey of faculty salaries, reporting an average increase of 1.2% in 2009-10, the lowest in the 50-year history of the survey.  Here are the Top 10 national universities and liberal arts colleges in average salaries for full professors:

  5. Princeton ($181,000)
  6. Yale ($174,100)
  7. Cal Tech ($171,900)
  8. NYU ($171,700)
  9. Yeshiva ($170,700)
  10. Penn ($170,100)

Liberal Arts Colleges:

  1. Wellesley ($142,900)
  2. Amherst ($135,300)
  3. Claremont McKenna ($135,100)
  4. Pomona ($134,700)
  5. Barnard ($134,100)
  6. Harvey Mudd ($130,700)
  7. Williams ($130,500)
  8. Wesleyan ($129,400)
  9. Smith ($128,400)
