Jeffery L. Yablon (Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, Washington, D.C.) has published As Certain as Death — Quotations About Taxes (2010 Edition), 2010 TNT 72-9 (Apr. 15, 2010):
This is the ninth edition of "As Certain as Death — Quotations About Taxes," the collection that I have assembled and published in Tax Notes over the last 16 years. It contains 1,577 quotations, a 426 percent increase over the 300 quotations that made up the first edition in 1994….
Readers have always been invited to send additional quotes about taxes. Many have done so, most notably law professors who offer clever lines about taxes that they themselves wrote. Today the leading tax blog lists the tax professors who are quoted, along with their quotes.
My favorite quote remains:
The tax bar is commonly referred to as a "special priesthood," and it is only slightly more tolerant than the Catholic Church in ordaining women tax priests. — Paul L. Caron [Tax Myopia, or Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Tax Lawyers, 13 Va. Tax Rev. 517 (1994)].
