My wife, daughter, and I spent part of the day today with 7000 other people participating in our church's Go Cincinnati event:
Each year, an army of volunteers impact Cincinnati through various service projects in a one-day, citywide blitz of compassion. Working alongside other churches, we show love to hundreds of community-based organizations throughout our city in practical ways.
Last May, over 6500 people from Crossroads and other partner churches went out to serve the homeless, paint schools, clean neighborhoods and help make a difference at more than 300 sites throughout our city. On Saturday, May 15, 2010, we'll do it again with over 7000 volunteers at more than 400 sites.
The day concluded with Go Grub — David Falk, Cincinnati's best chef, presided over a free feast of pork, macaroni & cheese, and collard greens for 6000 people in Washington Park in Over-the-Rhine.
