McGill Seeks to Fill Endowed Tax Chair

McgillThe Faculty of Law at McGill University is seeking to fill a fully-endowed tax chair, the H. Heward Stikeman Chair in the Law of Taxation:

Associate Professor Kim Brooks was H. Heward Stikeman Chair in Tax Law from July 2007 to July 2010 [when she left to become Dean of the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University].

The Faculty seeks applications from scholars of international reputation in the field of taxation law.

The chair holder will provide intellectual leadership at the Faculty of Law and will be a leading researcher who will shape the course of tax law locally, nationally and globally. The chair holder will teach and supervise undergraduate students and graduate students at the master and doctoral levels in the Faculty of Law and will be committed to developing a comparative, integrated and dynamic approach to the teaching of the law of taxation.

Given the bilingual environment of McGill's Faculty of Law, the chair holder will be expected to evaluate written and oral work presented in both English and French.

The position is tenured and the Chair is fully endowed. The salary and the academic rank will reflect the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. The term for the chair is seven years and is renewable. The appointment would commence January or July 1, 2011. …
