Craig Boise Named Dean at Cleveland-Marshall

Boise Tax Prof Craig M. Boise (DePaul) has been named Dean at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. This is a spectacular hire for Cleveland-Marshall and a homecoming of sorts for Craig, who worked as a tax associate at Thompson Hine’s Cleveland office from 1999-2003 before joining the faculty at Case Western. He left Cleveland in 2009 to accept a tenured appointment at DePaul and to direct its graduate tax program. From the Cleveland-Marshall press release:

CSU President Ronald Berkman said Boise stood out among the impressive list of candidates for his academic and administrative credentials. “Craig has published extensively and is well respected for his research in money laundering and offshore banking practices,” Berkman said. “He brings an intellectual approach to law that clearly stands out among his peers.” …

Boise has been active in a variety of civic and charitable organizations, including The Cleveland Clinic’s Children’s Hospital and Cleveland Bridge Builders.  He is an accomplished classical pianist, and was named among the “40 Under 40” by Kaleidoscope Magazine in 2002. “Cleveland-Marshall is an outstanding law school with strong faculty and loyal alumni,” Boise said. “I’m looking forward to raising the school’s national reputation.”
