Several new planned law schools have either been shelved (University of Delaware (Newark, DE), Wilkes University (Wilkes-Barre, PA)) or had their projected openings delayed (SUNY-Binghamton (Binghamton, NY) (2017-18), University of North Texas (Dallas, TX) (2013-14)). Last week, the Maine Supreme Judicial Court again rejected a request by Husson University (Bangor, ME) to allow the graduates of its proposed law school to take the Maine bar exam, and the university may table its planned law school.
New law schools will be opening in 2011-12 (Belmont University (Nashville, TN)) and 2012-13 (Concordia University (Boise, ID), Louisiana College Judge Paul Pressler School of Law (Shreveport, LA)).
Lincoln Memorial University (Knoxville, TN) and UC-Irvine (Irvine, CA) are the latest law schools to open their doors, in 2009-10.
