The SSRN Tax Law & Policy eJournals passed an important milestone this weekend:  the 7,500th tax paper was posted to the database, fifteen years after its launch.  I am proud to serve as editor of the three tax journals (Tax Law & Policy (4,954 papers), Practitioner Series (2,151 papers), and International & Comparative Tax (1,476) — the total exceeds 7,500 because some papers are posted to more then one of the tax journals.). These 7,500 tax papers have been downloaded 745,975 times (an average of  99.5 downloads per paper).   TaxProf Blog publishes a monthly listing of the Top 25 tax professors as measured by all-time and recent downloads, as well as a weekly listing of the Top 5 tax papers as measured by recent downloads.

There are over 107,000 papers in the 75+ SSRN subject matter e-journals, Tax has the seventh most papers posted to its database. Here are the Top 25:
