Following up on my prior post, Thomson Reuters to Sell Foundation Press, West (Jan. 20, 2012): as a Foundation Press author, I received an email this morning announcing the sale:

Friday afternoon we announced to our staff that Thomson Reuters has completed the sale of our Law School Publishing business to Eureka Growth Capital. Our business has a long history of providing top-quality course materials to law school faculty and students, and we believe Eureka will bring the resources and commitment to support our long-term success.

The new business will be known as West Academic Publishing and is home to the West Academic, Foundation Press and Gilbert imprints. The West imprint will transition with West-branded titles under a licensing agreement with Thomson Reuters, and we anticipate that we will collaborate closely with Thomson Reuters on key projects. Our leadership team will remain with the business, which will continue to be based in Minnesota. You can also expect to work with the same editors, marketers and account managers you have come to know over the years. Our goal is to make this transition seamless for our authors, so if you do not notice many changes we’ll know we’re doing a good job.
