Yesterday, his family and friends celebrated the life of Shep Bryan. He was one of the greatest men I have ever had the privilege to know. He had a spectacular life as a Navy man, lawyer, community leader and philanthropist, and husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. The Hamilton play says a legacy is "planting seeds in a garden you never get to see." I am so grateful this patriarch lived to be 100 so he could see firsthand the legacy he leaves behind in the many, many lives he touched. Marrying into his wonderful family is the singular achievement of my life.
