The AALS Section on Taxation is soliciting nominations for a new member ahead of the AALS Annual Meeting in January 2025. (Thank you to Orly Mazur, last year's Tax Section Chair, who will be rolling off the Committee at the end of this year.) This year's new addition will start their term at the annual meeting in San Francisco.
Executive Committee members should be willing to serve for 5 years, serving as Chair Elect in their 3rd year and Chair in their 4th year. (The former chair then stays on for one additional year to provide guidance to the current chair.) Individuals nominated for the Executive Committee should consider whether they are willing to serve the Section through this five-year rotation. Members should be prepared to participate actively in Section work throughout the year and should plan to attend the AALS Annual Meetings.
Please feel free to nominate yourself or a colleague. If you are nominating a colleague, you should confirm their willingness to serve before you nominate them. If you are nominating yourself, please provide a short statement (no more than 250 words) explaining your interest in serving on the committee and your relevant background. These statements will be shared with the whole Tax Section during the voting process. If you are nominating someone else, we will contact that person to ask for a statement.
Please submit your nominations via email to Jennifer Bird-Pollan by December 2, 2024. We are planning to have voting done online before the annual meeting in January so that we can welcome the new member then.
Thank you!
Jennifer Bird-Pollan (Chair)
Roberta Mann (Chair Elect)
Phyllis Taite
