ABA Journal, Association of American Law Schools Will House TaxProf Blog After Previous Web Host Ceased Operations:
The TaxProf Blog, which provided news on legal education, scholarship and commentary for more than 800,000 deans, professors, lawyers and other visitors annually for more than 20 years, will have a second life.
As of Thursday, the Association of American Law Schools will host the blog founded in 2004 by Paul L. Caron, the dean of the Pepperdine University Rick J. Caruso School of Law, at TaxProfBlog.aals.org. …
The TaxProf Blog was named to ABA Journal’s Blawg 100 Hall of Fame.

Law360, Popular TaxProf Blog Returns After Shutdown:
After blogging platform Typepad announced it was shutting down at the end of September, Paul L. Caron wrote what he thought would be his last post as the founder and editor of TaxProf Blog, in which he said goodbye to his many subscribers.
Although he felt Typepad’s closure would be the ideal time for him to end his seven-day-a-week, two-decade-long blogging career, his loyal followers had other ideas for Caron, dean and law professor at the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. “I got over 300 emails and comments on the blog from folks from both the tax world and the legal education world, just saying how much they enjoyed it through the years, and how valuable it was, and they would start their day with it kind of thing,” Caron told Law360 Pulse in a Friday interview. “It’s kind of like I got to die and hear my funeral.”
Meanwhile, several tax experts and about a half-dozen institutions offered to host TaxProf Blog 2.0 to help keep it going, which made him reconsider his decision to retire from that career.
On Thursday, the Washington, D.C.-based Association of American Law Schools announced that AALS is the new platform for TaxProf Blog via a partnership with Caron that will allow him to blog once a week or so while multiple guest editors will take turns on the other days. … “I thought it would be cool to be able to keep it going at a place that is the most important
organization in legal education,” Caron said of the non-profit AALS.
