National Jurist is out with a list of the 25 most influential people in legal education, a list they compiled mostly by surveying law school deans. Unsurprisingly, perhaps, the list includes a large (some might say very large) number of deans and ex-deans. I know many of the chosen few (admittedly, an ex-dean myself) and think the world of them. But let me extend special congratulations to Brian Leiter, Sherrilyn Ifill, and Meera Deo, who managed to break through without that particular mantle of leadership (although they are clearly leaders in their own right), and to the others who made the list based on their leadership of key organizations that so crucially support the legal academy.
