Press). Despite our country’s significant investment in civil litigation as a way to pursue justice, the authors argue, the court system is more often deployed against members of marginalized communities who themselves can seldom gain access to the lawyers they need to have a fighting chance. Organizing through community groups such as tenants’ unions is offered as a more effective route to leveling the playing field. Read more here
