Happy Valentine’s Day!

Last year, University of California, San Francisco College of the Law ran a news story (“Valentine’s Day 2024: UC Law SF Celebrates Couples Who Found Love at Law School“) profiling four couples who found love in law school. As the story goes, “[t]here’s more to law school than learning doctrine and case law. It’s also the place where some students find their soul mates. In honor of Valentine’s Day, the UC Law School told stories of four couples who fell in love as students at UC Law San Francisco.”

Over the years, I have seen a great many students marry classmates, raise families, and climb the ladder of the legal profession. It is one of the nice things about being around a law school — separate and apart from the intellectual rigor and analysis of the pressing social justice issues of our times.

At UC Davis, the law student Lawcappela group performs singing Valentine grams, even one that brought joy to a deans’ meeting a couple years back.
