AI has been big lately on the TaxProf (and every other) blog. See, e.g., here; here; here. In my endless search for law school rankings on a number of different fronts, I decided to pursue one that was truly important to me. I asked Chat GPT “what are the best law schools for tacos?”
Here is what I received:
“If you mean `law schools located in cities with excellent tacos,’ a few places stand out:
• UCLA / USC (Los Angeles) — huge taco scene, from trucks to high‑end spots.
• University of Texas School of Law (Austin) — great mix of traditional and modern tacos.
• University of San Diego / USD Law — Southern California + Baja influence.
• Arizona State University (Phoenix) — strong Mexican food culture and tons of taco shops.
• UC Berkeley / Hastings (Bay Area) — not as iconic, but still plenty of standout taquerias.
If you meant something else—like a law school with an actual `taco culture’ or clubs—tell me and I’ll tailor it.” An interesting follow up but I did not pursue it.
I noted the regional focus of the Top Law Schools for Tacos. I was surprised that the Bay Area law schools made the list. I am from LA and lived for years in the Bay Area. I never thought much of the Mexican food there. Not sure that AI got this one right.
