Summer Tax Institute, June 15 – 18, 2026, UC Davis School of Law

The 36th annual Summer Tax Institute, with, among others, UC Davis School of Law Professors Darien Shanske and Dennis Ventry, is in session! It is an intensive, 4-day educational program for tax professionals. Classes qualify for continuing professional education credits with CPE credit available. 

The summer program has been highly successful. Written evaluations indicate that over 95 percent of the participants would recommend the Institute to others. Students come from both the public and private sectors and represent accounting firms, law firms, state agencies, and private industry from throughout the country.

Classes utilize readings, lectures, case study method, hands-on exercises, and discussions, and feature nationally known scholars, tax administrators, and private practitioners as instructors. Our instructors are experts on a wide range of tax issues and are accessible both in the classroom and on an informal basis throughout the 4 days to discuss students’ questions.

The institute has two tracks, Multistate Corporate Income Tax and Multistate Sales & Use Tax. Students select one of these tracks.
