New Law School Planned in Austin

Following up on Kevin Johnson’s post from earlier today, here’s what The Austin American-Statesman reports about the University of Austin’s, (sometimes referred to as UATX) plans to launch a new law school as soon as 2028. As Dean Johnson noted, UATX will eschew ABA accreditation. Time to degree will be shorter. Practicing lawyers and judges will be in charge rather than academics. And tuition will be free. Will this turn out to be innovation or degradation? Only time will tell.
