ABA Tax Section: Procedurally Taxing Alaska Project

ABA Tax Section, Procedurally Taxing Alaska Project annual trip to Alaska from February 20-28, 2027:

The Tax Section will embark on its annual trip to Alaska to prepare tax returns through the Procedurally Taxing AlaskaProject (PTAP) from February 20-28 2027. After a successful launch of the program, in collaboration with the Alaska Business Development Center (ABDC) during the winter of 2025, the Tax Section will, for the third time, host six volunteers to travel to Alaska and prepare tax returns for taxpayers living in remote parts of the state.

Thank you to Procedurally Taxing (PT) for their generous financial support for the 2027 Procedurally Taxing Alaska Project, without PT and the individual donors who have contributed to our fundraising campaigns, this unique pro bono opportunity – which simultaneously offers tax return preparation and experiential learning in communities far off the usual Alaska travel path – would not be possible.

This is a popular and competitive application program. Applications are due October 19, 2026.
