TaxProf Blog is a widely respected and influential blog focused on U.S. tax law and legal education, and was created and maintained by Paul L. Caron, Dean of Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law. Originally, it ran on the Typepad platform from April 2004 to September 2025, publishing over 55,000 posts. In October 2025, it was acquired by the Association of American Law School who have agreed to host the archives of TaxProf Blog as well as keep the site current with posts from Dean Caron and guest editors.
The blog covers news and developments in tax law, legal education, IRS rulings, tax reform, and policymaking. It also features links to law journal articles, academic conferences, research, court decisions, and personal reflections and commentary on faith from Dean Caron.
