From today’s New York Times: Former Yankees Traveling Secretary Pleads Guilty in Tax Case, by Tyler Kepner:
The Yankees formally fired David Szen, their former traveling secretary, on Tuesday after Szen pleaded guilty in United States District Court to filing a false federal income tax return.
Szen, 56, admitted in court in New Haven that he had failed to disclose $53,350 in tips from players and coaches over a five-year period. The authorities said that Szen owed $10,285 in taxes on those earnings, and that he would be sentenced on March 7.
