The newest law school ranking from Brian Leiter on our Leiter’s Law School Rankings website is a list of the top 10 law schools as measured by the percentage of faculty elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. Leiter notes that the Academy each year "elects members based on their distinguished contributions to scholarship, the arts, education, business, or public affairs." He cautions, however, that "[i]n reality, the Academy tends to be a bit ‘chummy’—schools already ‘rich’ with members get ‘richer,’ not always on the merits—though the sins tend to be of omission rather than inclusion." The site lists the 108 law faculty from these schools elected to the Law Section of the Academy; only two are Tax Profs:
- Michael Gratez (Yale)
- Louis Kaplow (Harvard)
