The Christian Science Monitor reports on the growing state trend (12 states and counting) of offering tax incentives to promote organ donation. Wisconsin, for example, provides a tax deduction of up to $10,000 for expenses like travel, hotel bills, and lost wages when donating an organ: “The approach is an attempt to tread ethically controversial ground between the high unmet demand for organs and caution over creating a financial market for them.” (Hat tip to TaxGuru.)
