Following up on my prior posts (links below): Dan Filler (Drexel) reports today that former Dean Karen Rothenberg has reached a settlement with the Maryland Attorney General and agreed to return $300,000 of the $350,000 disputed retention bonus payment (she previously returned $60,000). From the Baltimore Sun:
Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler said the state determined that [University President David] Ramsay was never authorized to give Rothenberg the money. “In reaching this agreement, we took into account Professor Rothenberg’s service to the School of Law and that there were good-faith misunderstandings relating to matters of compensation that resulted in these payments being made and accepted.”
