The Tax Court yesterday issued this press release announcing proposed amendments to its rules:

The proposed amendments include proposals affecting the time for filing summary judgment motions, Rule 155 computations, motions regarding elections to proceed under the small tax case procedure, and answers in lien and levy cases; and amendments to Rule 124 providing more prominent recognition of mediation as a form of alternative dispute resolution. The proposed amendments also include technical corrections to the Rules amendments effective as of January 1, 2010. … The proposed amendments are contained in the Notice attached to this press release. … [T]he Tax Court invites public comment on the proposed amendments. Written comments must be received by March 7, 2011.
