The overall pass rate on California’s July 2025 bar exam inched slightly higher year-over-year to 54.8%, according to statistics released Friday by the state bar. … The success rate is the second highest for a July sitting going back 12 years. …

The slightly higher overall pass rate on the July exam is in step with similar small increases seen in other states that have already posted statistics. Rates rose by one or two percentage points over last year in the District of Columbia (80%), Florida (67%), Illinois (74%), Michigan (65%) and Oregon (75%).
