We are now 25% of the way through Fall 2026 law school admissions season. The number of law school applicants reported by LSAC is up 24.1% compared to last year at this time.

178 of the 196 law schools are experiencing an increase in applications. Applications are up +30% or more at 86 law schools.

Applicants are up in every region, and are up the most in Northwest (+45.0%), Mountain West (+42.4%), and South Central (+27.1%).

Applicants’ LSAT scores are up 19.8% in the 170-180 band, +17.6% in the 160-169 band, +19.3% in the 150-159 band, and +30.3% in the 120-149 band.

Not Indicated are up +31.6%; Middle Eastern|North African +25.9%; Black|African American applicants are up +25.0%; Hispanic|Latino applicants are up +24.8%; Asian applicants are up +24.2%; Caucasian|White applicants are up +23.2%; American Indian|Alaska Native applicants are up +19.8%; Native Hawaiian|Other Pacific Islander applicants are up +19.1%; and Canadian Aboriginal|Indigenous are down -16.7%.

Man applicants are up +26.1%; Not Indicated applicants are up +25.5%; Woman applicants are up +23.0%; and Gender Diverse applicants are down -2.5%.

First Generation College Student applicants are up +26.9%.
