The Annual Meeting for the Association of American Law Schools will take place in place in person from Tuesday, January 6 to Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside and Loews New Orleans Hotel. The early bird registration deadline is next Tuesday, November 18. AALS has scheduled the annual meeting to provide time for faculty, staff, and others to attend and return home prior to the start of classes at many schools the following week. The conference theme seeks to reflect on the contributions of legal education as we celebrate the Association’s 125th Year Anniversary.

AALS is seeing a surge of registrations, but this is an important time for faculty, staff, and legal educators to come together. We have lots to discuss collectively, with important panels and speakers on a range of critical topics. The conference will include over 200 in-person sessions, receptions, and events organized by Sections, the Annual Meeting Program Committee, and others. The three presidential plenary programs will include leaders in legal education and the legal profession, including state supreme court chief justices and managing partners at major law firms. The plenary programs will explore key issues impacting legal education and the legal profession from the past year, collaboration between law schools and the courts, as well as innovations occurring at law schools. The AALS Symposium will focus on supporting the Rule of Law through teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Workshops are scheduled for pre-tenured faculty and for deans. A series of hot topic programs are being finalized. Other programs will explore substantive changes in the law, the impact of AI and technology on legal education, and celebrate a range of faculty and school achievements.
