The Subcommittee on Oversight of the House Ways & Means Committee holds a hearing today on the Alternative Minimum Tax:
The Subcommittee will examine the growing scope of the AMT and its interaction with individual-based tax provisions, including the tax cuts enacted since 2001.
Witnesses:
- Eric Solomon (Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy, U.S. Treasury Department)
- Nina E. Olson (National Taxpayer Advocate, IRS)
- Leonard E. Burman (Director, Tax Policy Center)
- Alan Viard (Resident Scholar, American Enterprise Institute)
The hearing will take place in 1100 Longworth House Office Building, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
