Early this morning, the House Ways and Means Committee voted 23-18 to approve H.R. 3200, America’s Affordable Health Choices Act, which includes a $540 billion surtax on the "wealthy" and several other tax increases. All 15 committee Republicans voted against the bill, as did three Democrats (Ron Kind (Wis.), Earl Pomeroy (N.D.), and John Tanner (Tenn.)).
