We are now 90% of the way through Fall 2022 law school admissions season. The number of law school applicants reported by LSAC is down 11.0% compared to last year at this time.

63 of the 199 law schools are experiencing an increase in applications. Applications are up 50% or more at 1 law school, and 20% or more at 8 law schools:

Applicants are up in only one region: Other (+6.5%); and are down the most in Northwest (-17.5%), Northeast (-15.5%), and Midwest (-13.7%):

Applicants' LSAT scores are down -15.2% in the 170-180 band, -13.4% in the 160-169 band, -10.2% in the 150-159 band, and -11.7% in the 120-149 band:

Asian applicants are down -4.0%; Hispanic|Latino applicants are down -4.5%; American Indian|Alaska Native applicants are down -8.0%; Black|African American applicants are down -8.9%; Puerto Rican applicants are down -10.1%; Not Indicated are down -11.3%; Native Hawaiian|Other Pacific Islander applicants are down -12.0%; and Caucasian|White applicants are down -13.3%.

Man applicants are down -11.6% and woman applicants are down -11.1%. Among the remaining gender categories, the largest increases are androgyne (+75.0%), additional gender category (+36.1%), transgender woman (+31.0%),  and genderqueer or gender fluid (+18.8%):
