ACS opened its 25th anniversary convention at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. Thursday evening with a panel emphasizing the role of State Attorneys General in defending the rule of law. Moderated by former Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, Kristen Clarke (far left), the panel featured California’s Attorney General Rob Bonta, Minnesota’s Attorney General Keith Ellison, and New Jersey’s Attorney General Jennifer Davenport. At the welcome dinner, new President Phil Brest presented the lifetime achievement award to Fatima Goss Graves, President and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center, and attendees were treated to inspiring remarks from Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and LDF President and Director-Counsel, Janae Nelson.
