The ABA Tax Section hosts Careers in Tax Law today for Washington, D.C. area tax students at Georgetown:
The Section of Taxation co-hosts Careers in Tax Law panels at various law schools around the country to introduce J.D. and LL.M. students to careers available in the tax practice area. The career panels typically include three to four lawyers representing private practice, the government, academia, and one of the big four accounting firms. Panelists generally speak for about five minutes each, relating how they pursued their careers, pitfalls they may have encountered, and any advice they may have for the students interested in pursuing a career in tax law. A 10-15 minute Q&A session concludes the panel, and participants then break for a networking reception, including light refreshments and drinks.
