Today is the first day of the 2-day "meat market" — the annual AALS recruitment conference in Washington, D.C. for folks looking to break into the law prof biz. Fifteen years ago this morning, I was in D.C. getting ready for a full day of interviews when my wife called to tell me she was pregnant with our first child. I rode the good karma through a great interview with Cincinnati and left my life-long Boston home the following Spring to start a new life and family in Ohio. It has been a great ride, and I wish all the tax prof wannabes well as they try to land the best job in the tax world.
